Brotherhood of Steel hostile in Fallout New Vegas glitch?

I have Ed-E and I am supposed to take him to the Brotherhood of Steel but when I enter the bunker and enter the PW he says he is going to send someone up but instead there are about 7 guards and they are hostile. I killed them all and entered the bunker hoping it was normal but apparently it isn't. Any idea what went wrong here or how to fix it? My game has been glitched it seems since early on when Ringo died randomly many days after I had saved him for no reason. I saved him and went on with the game and later went back once to vendor some things and sunny told me he died... So maybe the whole game is still glitched from when my hard drive was pulled out when the game was on...
