Fallout New Vegas Honest Hearts glitched already?

Uh, I started this DLC and just ran ALL the way across the map to get the "map of Zion" but everyone attacks me along the way and at one point I failed the first quest I came across "Family Ties" or something. And then, as I get to an NPC named Daniel, he's friendly at first, but as I come closer, him and a bunch of tribals begin to attack me.. wtf? Does anyone else have this problem? I just played for like 2 hours and everyone is just attacking me...
