Mass effect 2 HELP!!!?

I'm doing thanes loyalty mission. Haven't played ME for a while so forgot where i am but the game seems to have glitched. the Journal says to 'Go to Citadel' i'm in a small outside area in front of the AZURE building, but cant anywhere, one character saying 'they've locked the doors' or something but i cant go anywhere PLEASE HELP anyone got any ideas
